Bernis Riley, Psy.D, LPC-S holds a Master of Arts degree in counseling from Liberty University, and a Doctor of Psychology degree from California
Southern University. Her major experience is in marriage and family therapy and trauma. She is licensed by the state of Texas as a licensed professional counselor supervisor and is certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). She is a member of the Texas Christian Counseling Association and ICEEFT (International Center for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy). She is the founder and director of SoulCare Counseling.

Mendy Landreth, M.Ed., LPC, NCC, Registered Play Therapist, has affectionately been called "a mender of people." She uses her compassion and empathy to bring healing to individuals and families. Mendy's extensive training in play therapy has been the backbone of her powerful work with children and has made her more attuned to her adolescent and adult clients as well. In addition to talk therapy, she utilizes sandtray therapy and other expressive art activities with interested clients of all ages.

Mendy has a solid educational foundation, beginning with her bachelor's degree in Child Development and Family Studies. In 2002, she earned her master's degree from the University of North Texas, which has been ranked the #1 counseling program in Texas. Mendy is grateful for the privilege of studying under her father-in-law, Dr. Garry Landreth, world-renowned authority in the field of play therapy.

Having been married over 21 years, Mendy has gained insight that allows her to offer hope and encouragement to other women and couples. She especially enjoys providing premarital counseling. Being a mom has allowed Mendy to understand how challenging parenting can be, which is why she is so eager to come alongside parents to make their jobs less stressful. Jonathan Fisher, LPC holds a Master’s of Science from the University of North Texas in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. He completed internships at a
mental health hospital as well as a private Christian counseling practice.  As a follower of Christ, Jonathan is committed to empathize with people as opposed to judging them.  He believes that coming to the table with a humble and compassionate spirit is the only way that he can encourage true healing and change to occur. Jonathan considers it a blessing and honor to walk with people through their struggles and healing process.

Jonathan specializes in seeing teens and young adults; people who are experiencing stress, anxiety, dark thoughts, depression, trauma, grief; marital/communication conflict; parents for parental counseling; children and adults with a high emotional intelligence who feel misunderstood; and people who have Hispanic backgrounds and wish to see a counselor that also understands the cultural backing from where they are coming from.

Denisa Mohr, LPC, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education, specializing in elementary education and has completed her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. She holds a certification in Biblical Counseling from The Biblical Counseling Institute through Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Denisa has two children and has jointly built and operated a successful business with her loving husband since 2000. Denisa has taught elementary, middle, and high school students for over ten years in both the public and private school environment. In addition, she has spent significant time working with adolescents, women, and couples in various leadership and ministry roles over the past ten years. She desires to facilitate healing and restoration in individuals and relationships by coming alongside them to provide hope, acceptance, comfort, and guidance in their journeys to be all God has destined them to be. Denisa is a member of the American Counseling Association.

Kristy Meador, LPC-Intern , holds a Masters in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University and a Bachelors in Psychology from Midwestern State University. She is a member of the Christian Counselors of Texas.

Kristy has a passion for helping people walk through trials in life focusing in the areas of grief and trauma. Her focus is on the person as a whole and in context of their entire life. She will work to help you gain understanding and perspective leading to greater self-awareness and whole life living. Her commitment is to provide a safe space where honesty is honored, respected, and held dear.

Courtney Holbrook, LPC-Intern, holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The University of Tulsa (2000), and a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Amberton University (2020). She is licensed by the state of Texas as a licensed professional counselor and is a member of ICEEFT (International Center for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy). She is an LPC-intern under the supervision of Dr. Bernis Riley, LPC-S.

Courtney has received advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Though her main passion is to help couples in distress turn their relationship from disconnected to connected, she also works with individuals and families to help them develop emotionally healthy bonds with the people they love.

Courtney and her husband have four beautiful children that keep them very busy. Because their youngest son was born with Down Syndrome, Courtney has a heart, as well as the experience, to help parents of physically and mentally challenged children to cope with the special stressors that they face.

Amber Bezney, Graduate Student Intern, is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Marriage Family and Couples Counseling at Lamar University.  She graduated from Baylor University in 1989 with a degree in Bachelor of Arts - Business Administration. 

Amber is a single mother of two college-aged children and has experienced many ups and downs in her life. She wishes to empower those that she counsels to embrace life and find meaning in their journey, no matter what struggles or obstacles they face.  In seeking God's will for our lives and through connection with Him and others, we will work together to make the changes you wish to see.
Amber is a member of the American Counseling Association.  She is a past founding board member of Young Men's Service League - Pacesetter in Flower Mound, TX and currently serves on the leadership team for The Cure Starts Now - North Texas, raising money and awareness for pediatric cancer.

Kelly Heard, Graduate Student Intern, is currently pursuing her Master of Arts degree in marriage and family therapy at Amberton University.  She attended Abilene Christian University and the University of Texas at Austin before attending and graduating from Texas Woman’s University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry.

Kelly is a wife of 36 years, mother of four grown children, and proud grandmother of three.  She loves to get to the bottom of things in conflicted relationships.  Believing that healthy human bonding is the foundation of mental health, Kelly is dedicated to walking beside you as you create a secure bond with your spouse, your family and yourself.
